Replanted Flowerbeds By Wadham Bridge – Financed by Ward Forum Funding

One of our members in Chapel End Ward, Karen Murray, applied for Ward Forum Funding to make the flowerbeds in the approach to Highams Park from Wadham Road into Winchester Road look more attractive. As you can see from the pictures the trees and plants are small but they will grow and will make the flowerbeds look much more attractive.

Karen will be looking for volunteers soon to help mulch the beds, so if you would like to help out please let us know by emailing highamsparkplan@gmail.com and we’ll let you know when the work is going to be done.

If you would like to do something similar to make your area more attractive, there is no reason you cannot apply for Ward Forum Funding too! £10,000 is allocated for community projects for each ward but the funding is for all sorts of projects not just planting, so it is not guaranteed that you will get the funding you ask for but why not give it a try.

You can find out how to apply from the Council’s website at this link Community ward funding or you can speak to one of your local Councillors.

If you are nor sure which ward you live in or who your local Councillor is Click here to find out which ward you live in and enter your post code  where it says ‘My Place’ and then click on ‘Places and services near me’ .
