2. Saturday 6th May – Handsworth Pre-School Spring Fete 
Highams Park Baptist Church, Cavendish Road (opposite Selwyn School)
2:00 pm until 4:00 pm
3. Friday 12th May – All Saints Church Quiz Evening
A fund raiser for a life changing wheelchair for local resident Leanne Thomson with a quiz, auction, a raffle and live music
Church Avenue, E4 9QD from 7:30 pm onwards
Teams of 8; £10 per head
Bring your own snacks, alcoholic and soft drinks on sale

4. Friday 19th May Breathe Saxophone Group at All Saints Church
A debut performance by a new local saxophone sextet performing an eclectic repertoire of baroque, classical, film and contemporary jazz music.
8:00 pm onwards
Tickets on the door £6.50 per head.
5. Sunday 21st May The Highams Park Spring Festival – 11:00 am until 4:30 pm
A free fun day out for all the family in The Highams Park (next to the lake) organised by the Friends of The Highams Park, details are in the poster below.

7. The Highams Park Society is running a photography competition: ‘Our Lake’
First Prize – £100 (kindly donated by Hobson of Highams Park).
Any other entries that are highly commended will be awarded prizes of £20
Entries are limited to 3 images per person and should be sent to highamsparklake@yahoo.com
There are two categories:
regular images (these can be images where filters have been used)
images altered using paint programs or artistic effect applications
The closing date for the competition is Sunday 21st May.
